Scam Awareness tips for Newcomers to Canada

The scams presentation is a great way to educate taxpayers on how to spot email, phone and text message scams. Also, review what to expect if the CRA contacts you and what steps to take to protect yourself from fraud.

Facilitator, James Barclay is a Volunteer and Outreach officer with the Canada Revenue Agency. Prior to joining outreach, he worked on the identity theft line to help Canadians who fell victim to CERB fraud regain and secure their online access to My Account. When not speaking about scams, taxes and benefits, he can be found with his rescue cat Batman and tending to his vegetable garden.
