What does this program offer?
- Women and gender diverse people focused pre-apprenticeship
- Academic upgrading (math, English, and essential skills for the trade)
- Safety training and equipment
- Level 1 Certification
- Job readiness training
- Up to eight weeks placement experience after training is completed
- Supportive, highly-skilled, certified instructors
- Provide basic work tools and textbooks
- Public transportation support (if applicable)
- Ongoing support from YWCA Toronto staff
Who is this program for?
- Women and gender diverse people, 16 years and older
- Minimum grade 10 math and English or equivalency
- Resident of and able to work in Ontario
- Willing and able to commit to a 23-week full-time intensive training program
- Possess or be eligible to obtain a valid driver’s license
- Physically able to work in a variety of construction work environments
- Possess appropriate hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
