DESCRIPTION:What does this program offer?\n\n\nWomen and gender diverse people focused pre-apprenticeship\nAcademic upgrading (math\, English\, and essential skills for the trade)\nSafety training and equipment\nLevel 1 Certification\nJob readiness training\nUp to eight weeks placement experience after training is completed\nSupportive\, highly-skilled\, certified instructors\nProvide basic work tools and textbooks\nPublic transportation support (if applicable)\nOngoing support from YWCA Toronto staff\n\nWho is this program for? \n\nWomen and gender diverse people\, 16 years and older\nMinimum grade 10 education\nResident of and able to work in Ontario\nWilling and able to commit to a 24-week full-time intensive training program\nPossess or be eligible to obtain a valid driver’s license\nPhysically able to work in a variety of construction work environments and on their feet and knees for a considerable length of time\nPossess appropriate hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity and ability to identify and follow design patterns
