Newcomer Experiences: Panel Discussion with Next Stop Canada Mentors
Saturday, August 8, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am

Being a newcomer in Canada can be a challenging experience. Some of the most common concerns include language barriers, finding employment, culture shock, social isolation, just to name a few.
However, despite many obstacles that newcomers face, many continue to achieve success in their settlement and job search in Canada. Hence, we have invited some of our Next Stop Canada mentors who were once newcomers themselves to share their experience and learnings on how they were able to overcome these barriers.
We have invited the following mentors to share their stories and give tips on how to successfully settle and find a job in Canada:
Efren Jr. Dimayuga (Banking and Finance Mentor)- “Struggles, failures, and frustrations will happen but do not let them hinder you from your achieving your dreams. Perspective matters, focus on the positive side of life and instead of dwelling, work on your weaknesses.”
Nabeel Jabbar (Banking and Finance Mentor)- I” firmly believe in giving back to the community. I am in a position to help others and I realize a little help can make a difference in people’s lives.”
Trish Machiri (Quality Auditor/ Mentor)- “Even though things get tough, always be positive and believe in yourself.”
We look forward to having you in this session and if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email us at info@nextstopcanada.ca
