Next Stop Canada is a free online pre-arrival settlement service funded by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and delivered by YMCA of Greater Toronto Area. Next Stop Canada helps adults, youth and families immigrating to Canada. You can have access to information and resources such as our live chat, webinars, videos and our interactive Q&A forum about topics such as employment, education, finding accommodation, health system, government benefits and so much more.

Katerina Belazelkoska, PhD
Program Manager, Workplace Communication in Canada Program, Gateway for International Professionals

Dr. Katerina Belazelkoska has been a practicing electrical engineer, an instructor and a principal of a secondary technical school in her native Macedonia. She received her Master’s in Administrative Leadership and Supervision in Education and her doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM). Katerina was teaching undergraduate courses for future teachers and professional development courses for instructors at Milwaukee Area Technical College before immigrating to Canada in 2007.
In the past eight years, Katerina has managed several bridging programs under the umbrella of the Gateway for International Professionals at The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education, Ryerson University. In 2013 and 2014, Katerina has served as the Interim Program Director of the new Professional Master’s Diploma Programs offered by Ryerson University.
Katerina has presented her research and has facilitated workshops and roundtables at numerous conferences throughout North America. Katerina sits on the Leaders’ Roundtable on Immigration, a body established by the Conference Board of Canada. She considers herself privileged to be in the position to assist internationally trained professionals in finding a job in their field.
Saul Olmos, RSSW
Mennonite New Life Centre of Toronto
Mr. Saul Olmos is a settlement worker who is currently working to meet the varied needs of new permanent residents in Canada. He previously worked with refugee claimants at the MNLCT and has experience with labour rights, women’s rights and food security issues.
Saul also has experience in popular education, both through multimedia presentations and in writing, and he delivers the MNLCT’s citizenship test training workshops.
Saul is a registered Social Services Worker and holds a diploma in Community Work from George Brown College, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration. He speaks English and Spanish.
Saul’s happiest moments on the job are when he hears back from past clients and families about practical ways in which he has contributed to their settlement journey.
